WorleyParsons adopts new brand Worley following Jacobs ECR acquisition
WorleyParsons has announced it is to adopt a new brand, Worley, following the successful completion of the A$4.5 billion acquisition of Jacobs Energy, Chemicals and Resources division (Jacobs ECR).
The new merged business is a pre-eminent global provider of professional project and asset services in energy, chemicals and resources, employing 57,600 people across 51 countries worldwide.
Commenting on the news, CEO Andrew Wood said: “This acquisition is about more than capacity and capability. It’s about opportunity. The opportunity to become the partner of choice for our customers, the employer of choice for our people and to deliver enhanced returns for our shareholders.”
The acquisition marks an expansion in key strategic markets including Europe, the US, Canada, the Middle East and India. The company will have greater global reach, with leading market positions in the energy, chemical and resources sectors.
“We now have the ability to service our customers better through a broader geographic base and further diversified capabilities” Wood continued. “We plan to embrace the heritage of both WorleyParsons and Jacobs ECR while looking firmly ahead to what promises to be an exciting future as one entity.”
Chris Ashton, Chief Operating Officer also spoke of the news: “Together we become a global leader in the hydrocarbons upstream and downstream, chemicals, and mining, minerals & metals sectors. This means we can accelerate delivery of our corporate strategy and continue to focus on supporting our customers through the global energy transition. Sustainable power generation and renewable energy remains a priority for us.”
The merging of these two companies has created exciting changes within Advisian, the global advisory and consulting arm of Worley, as well. Downstream & Market Services as well as Sulphur & Process Technology have joined Advisian’s other global service lines including; Front-End Hydrocarbons, Advisory, Environment, Power & Transport, Advisian Digital and INTECSEA. The addition of these two global service lines serves to further strengthen our commitment to providing industry-leading consulting services to our markets.
