Special valves for the world’s largest CSP PROJECT

OHL Gutermuth is one of the world’s most experienced partners when it comes to supplying solar plants with high-pressure valves. The company has even supplied special valves for the construction of the largest Concentrated Solar Power plant in Dubai.

The “Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Solar Park”, which will start operating in spring 2022, is the largest CSP plant in the world, with an output of 1100 MW of energy. OHL Gutermuth acted as consultant to the Chinese plant manufacturer SEC Shanghai Electric and has been involved in the project for several years now. SEC Shanghai Electric specifically chose quality valves from OHL Gutermuth because the Hessen-based company with its headquarters in Altenstadt has many years of expertise in solar plant construction. “We have over 50 reference projects in this field and have already supplied our special valves to Spain, China, North and South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and North and Central America. We are delighted that our products are being used in a wide variety of solar plants around the world, and we are already planning numerous other projects.” says Wolfgang Röhrig, Managing Director of OHL Gutermuth. Röhrig has been monitoring the construction progress on site and most recently travelled to Dubai in October 2021.

Quality valves “Made in Altenstadt”
The special butterfly valves from OHL Gutermuth were delivered from Altenstadt to Dubai in 2020 and installed in the pipelines, which are up to 64" 600# in size. However, it is not only in the field of solar system construction that OHL Gutermuth is a sought-after partner for reliable, high-quality solutions. The extensive product portfolio includes butterfly valves, shut-off valves, special valves and a wide variety of other valves, some of which are designed for nominal diameters of up to DN 4000, pressures of over 200 bar and temperatures ranging from -196 °C to +1300 °C. All valves are manufactured by highly qualified specialists in Altenstadt and are subjected to rigorous testing in accordance with the most stringent international standards. OHL Gutermuth continues to invest in the company’s state-of-the-art machine park and is further developing its product ranges with a focus on the future. As recently as 2021, the valve manufacturer invested in new digital measuring instruments and expanded its facilities to include new offices for inspections and product acceptance testing in the field of cryogenic applications.
